NPC Vendor Item Markets

The System

NPC vendors in the 13 citizenship cities can potentially pay higher prices for items sold in certain categories. Players will need to be skilled in item identification to benefit from this system.

Market Categories

Items in demand will fall into one of the following categories:

  • armor and shields
  • clothing and hats
  • jewelry
  • gems and resources (ingots, boards, etc.)
  • spell scrolls
  • melee and ranged weapons

Learning the Markets

Certain NPCs in each of the 13 cities are knowledgeable about their local market category. Starting at 60.0 skill, you can use the item identification skill on these NPCs to teach your character about the local market.

Seek out these NPCs in each city to learn about their respective markets:

  • Armor: Blacksmith Guildmaster
  • Clothing: Tailor Guildmaster
  • Jewelry: Tinker Guildmaster
  • Gems & Resources: Minister of Trade
  • Spell Scrolls: Mage Guildmaster
  • Weapons: Warrior Guildmaster

Using the System

Each market category is always in demand in one of the 13 cities. The cities will change once per day and after server restarts. With 60.0+ skill, you can use the item identification skill on your character to view a gump with the day’s markets. The city will show as “unknown” if your character has not learned the market in the relevant city. An option to view your character’s market knowledge is also accessed through the day’s markets gump.

How much extra gold your character earns is affected by the item identification skill:

  • 70 skill (Expert): +25%
  • 80 skill (Adept): +50%
  • 90 skill (Master): +75%
  • 100 skill (Grandmaster): +100%
