Changes to casting and more!

Major Updates

-Magery spell mechanics are set to pre-Age of Shadows values.

  • Spell delay = 0.25 + (0.25 * Spell Circle) seconds
  • Recast delay = 0.5 seconds
  • No interruption delay
  • Fast cast delay = 2.25 seconds


-Players casting spells can walk during the casting/words of power.

Minor Updates

-Leather & some wood hues have been changed to more neutral colors.

-Disabled jack-of-all-trades racial bonus.

-Added Sherry the mouse to Britain.

  • Sherry responds to numerous key words.


-More adjustments to the Minoc Castle sparring pit.

-Changes to housing placement and yards.

  • A contract for house construction is purchased from architects in place of individual house deeds. This is a one time use item that allows you to see all available houses and attempt house placement before needing to commit to the full purchase price.
  • 80% of the purchase price is refunded when demolishing a house.
  • There is a several tile buffer zone around houses and their yards to avoid overlapping yards with adjacent housing.
  • You are able to stand anywhere in your yard while locking down items.


-A number of changes to spell casting.

  • Able to run with pre-casted spells, only can walk while casting.
  • Only words of power will show when casting (spell names do not appear).
  • Blade spirits & energy vortices can attack the caster. Some strategy will be required when using these spells.
  • Summon familiar, animate dead, and wither cannot be cast in town.
  • Some necromancy spells' cast times have been modified.
  • Male and female wraith forms use the same body.
  • Cleanse by fire's cure rate was increased and damage to caster was decreased.
  • Dispel evil was changed to have two functions. After casting, target oneself for the original use, target a foe to decrease their physical resistance. The resistance is dropped 1, 5, or 10% based on your karma. An addition 5% is removed for targets in necromancy spell forms.


-Several changes to gaining/losing karma.

  • There is now a substantial karma loss for killing neutral or positive karma blue players when your karma is over 5000.
  • Red players cannot gain karma from PvM.
  • Turning red immediately drops your karma to -2500, if it was higher. This includes turning red from killing NPC vendors/guards.


-Poison, strangle, and bleed attack do not stack on players. Only one can be active at a time.

-Provocation can be used to provoke creatures onto players.
