For those interested, here are some miscellaneous updates from early on in the development of the server. They are in no particular order.
World Map
-Added the town of Hvitorland to Dagger Isle.
-Small stakes Texas Hold’em table added to the tavern in Hvitorland.
-Replaced the Sea Market with a custom wharf/small town.
- Unable to mark runes in this location.
-Added a large castle to the north of Minoc.
-No reagents are used in the Minoc Castle sparring pit.
-An orc village was added to Fire Island, west of Hythloth. These orcs have an outpost on Dagger Isle as well.
-Added a large arena to the southwest of Britain.
Items
-Added gold doubloons, a new currency found in dungeons.
- Rare drop, rate increases with monsters' fame.
- Used on a vendor stone to purchase special items.
-All animals and monsters now have a chance to drop skill scrolls.
- Chance of increasing any skill by 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, or 1.0, depending on the color of the scroll.
- The higher the creature's fame, the better the chance of a scroll drop.
- Functions like a scroll of transcendence.
-Magical weapons and magic armor found in loot have names and properties in the style of pre-Age of Shadows items (e.g., accurate mace of force). The pre-AOS properties have been converted to their modern, equivalent properties.
-Magical clothing, magical jewelry, and wands are found in loot. Items from each of the categories use charges and are unable to be recharged.
- Magical clothing will apply the enchantment upon being equipped and, depending on the enchantment, consume charges over time.
- Wands function as maces and by double clicking them, you will cast the wand’s spell.
- Magical jewelry must be equipped. Double clicking it will cause its effect to happen instantly; there is no casting delay.
Crafting
-Quiver added to tailor crafting.
- Requires quiver parts, found on elf brigands.
-Added calthrops bag to the tinker traps crafting menu.
- Requires two iron ingots and two yellow scales to craft.
- When double clicked, calthrops are dropped where the player is standing.
- Upon stepping on the calthrops, a small amount of damage is dealt, and the player is forced to walk temporarily.
Misc
-Added lockpickable doors for thief specific game content.
- Doors automatically re-lock after 5 minutes.
-Quest NPCs have been gagged. Their names will appear yellow so they are recognizable, but they will not babble when you pass them.
-Implemented daily rares system.
- Items can simply be picked up by anyone.
- The items have several spawn locations and will change randomly.
