[Sticky] Getting Started

So you want to play on our server?

After downloading our client and connecting to the server, you'll be ready to create a character. A couple aspects of the character creation need not be lingered upon for too long -- race and skills. Race is simple, because this is a human only server. Some thought is necessary for selecting your skills, but immediately after creating your character you will begin in a room with skill trainers. They will train any of the available skills to 50.0 and you are provided sufficient gold to train 10 skills to that level. You are able to become a 10x grand master (GM) on the server, so training more than 10 skills will limit what you can GM. The moongate on the north-side of the starting room is one-way; once you leave, you will be unable to return.

You've set your skills and intrepidly step through the moongate. Looking around, you find yourself standing on a dock near a tavern, The Albatross. Those of you who have been around the UO block will recognize that the entirety of Old Haven has been restored to its former self (pre-blackrock catastrophe) and re-branded as Ocllo. There are plenty of shops to provide you some initial adventuring equipment. To the northwest is a bank and a Kill Point Reward Stone. A red-colored Kill Point Tracker was added to your character's pack and is bonded to your character. It will start accumulating kill points for every creature you slay. These points can then be used to purchase rewards from the Reward Stone.

Beside the bank is Uzeraan's Mansion. Uzeraan is a dialogue NPC, meaning that when single clicked, a talk option on his context menu will open a window with his conversation tree. To the south east is a path leading to a valley containing a cave and a ladder leading into a mine. This is the new player dungeon and it is home to some low level creatures. A public moongate can be found along the path toward the northeast side of Ocllo. Public moongates give you the ability to instantly travel to select locations around the world.
